Chinese Tattoo - Angelina Jolie Tattoo. Angelina Jolie has a small Chinese character on her left shoulder blade. (See the attached picture.) What does it mean? Well, it means "death". In Chinese tradition, people are usually trying to avoid this character. In fact, there is a whole line of superstition associated with it. The number four, for example, because it sounds similar to the word "death" (both pronounced as ssu, only with a different tone) is avoided as much as possible in license plate and phone numbers. The number eight, on the other hand, because it rhymes with the word "to get rich, to succeed" is highly appreciated. In any case, Angelina Jolie is not part of the Chinese tradition and the Chinese character on her back has some sort of appeal. It is actually cool.
